2 | Priorities | Scope of work • The following were agreed upon as the priority areas of focus for the next one year, in line with the National VIP Action Plan: • Gender-based violence • Road traffic injuries • Burns • Drowning • Assault/violence Advocacy • Commemoration of the UN Road Safety Week at both National and County/Sub-County Levels: 6th to 12th May 2019. This will be the first major activity of the TWG Coordination • Mapping of partners engaged in VIP across the country • Mapping of VIP interventions across sectors in the country Policy-related activities • Finalize the National Framework for the Organization of Trauma Care and Training • Review of existing policies and guidelines to incorporate VIP interventions, particularly the National Child Health Strategy and the Adolescent Health Guidelines Research and M&E • Documentation of best practices • Mapping and review of data sources and reporting systems for VIP • Mapping of hot spots for injuries (in addition to the NTSA/Safeway Right Way hot spot mapping for road traffic crashes) • Inventory of research on VIP and participate in ongoing research • Develop a research agenda for VIP in the country Capacity building • An assessment of health provider capacity for VIP to inform capacity-building priorities |
