Terms of References for The Diabetes Technical Working Group:
1. To provide a forum for ensuring sustained networking among stakeholders
2. Provide a forum for effective donor/stakeholder coordination to enhance planning and quality service provision for the people living with diabetes
3. Participate in the development of technical policies, strategies, guidelines, and action plans for diabetes prevention and control.
4. Conduct advocacy work to ensure strong commitments from policy makers and community leaders
5. Participate in identifying and conducting (as required) and coordinating research activities within diabetes prevention and control space
6. Resource mobilization for diabetes prevention and control in Kenya
7. Support capacity building on diabetes prevention and control across the country
8. Create a pool of diabetes professionals to act as national trainers and subject matter specialists in diabetes prevention and control
9. Participate in periodic review meetings and other program monitoring activities.
10. Establish a reporting mechanism for all stakeholders in the diabetes space

Priorities of the Diabetes TWG
1. Strengthening provision of diabetes care services at the primary health care level
2. Strengthening the provision of diabetes foot care services and building the capacity of health care workers
3. Digitization of data collection tools and dissemination of the EMR to the counties
4. Support resource mobilization for diabetes prevention and control activities
5. Coordination of partners in the diabetes space, with an aim of creating harmony in partner’s activities
6. Support the development of the workplace policy for the prevention and management of diabetes
7. Support the implementation of diabetes programs at the Ministry of Health
8. Establishment of an accredited course for diabetes educators in Kenya
9. Support the development of training curriculum for professional health care workers and peer educators
10. Strengthen supply chain for essential medicines and commodities
